The Assessment Process:

You will be called to attend the ORM Assessment Day that are held at regular intervals throughout the year. Dates of our remaining assessment days for this years placements are listed on the ORM news page of our website. Please check back regularly for any updates or changes.

The Assessment Day includes an orientation meeting to discuss the volunteering journey and includes a variety of group activities and interview. It will help you make an informed decision about volunteering in Moldova and provide you a form where you can ask any remaining  questions.

Our assessment process also enables us to look for the qualities you will need to meet the challenge of living and working overseas;

  • Self-assurance
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Problem Solving
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Sensitivity to the needs of others
  • A desire to learn and help others learn
  • A positive and realistic commitment to volunteering
We will ask you to give examples of times and situations where you have used these qualities. Over 80% of candidates are successful. So we are not looking for super humans but people who exhibit common sense, a genuine desire to help others and most importantly people who will make a positive impact in our ongoing programmes.
 

The Matching Process:

If your assessment is successful, you will be allocated to a group to travel to Moldova. We will try, where ever possible, to allocate you your first choice of dates, but we will ask you to provide alternate dates you are available in the event of your preference dates being full.

The Dublin office will step in an provide you any further assistance at this time, including putting you in contact with others travelling in your group and providing you access to returned volunteer advisors who provide useful and practical information as you prepare for your trip. It will be necessary at this point to ensure all your documentation is up to date and complete.
