The Virgin Mini London Marathon is the official UK road running championships for young athletes aged between 11 and 17.
If you’re looking for a challenge, the 2011 Virgin Mini London Marathon is your chance to compete against the best new talent in British road running.
The course is 3 miles long, stretching from London’s Old Billingsgate to The Mall. The event is open to entrants from the 9 regions of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, and will include teams from all 33 London Boroughs.
Previous winners of the Mini London Marathon include Mo Farah and Stephanie Twell, competitors from the Beijing Olympics, and Paralympians Shelly Woods and David Weir.
Trials for 2011 Virgin Mini London Marathon will take part in the winter months. The trials are open to both girls and boys aged between 11 & 17 years, who either live, or receive full time education within the London Borough of Bromley. Each trial will start and finish on the running track at Norman Park: the course will consist of a double circuit of the perimeter pathways of the park. Age groups are based on the UKA age group categories- this is the age you will be on 31st August 2011.
As in previous years the London Boroughs and additional selected guest counties throughout the United Kingdom will be participating.
Teams will consist of 8 runners, girls and boys, in three age groups with only the London Borough teams scoring in the overall competition.
