The 2011 event will consist of:

The Start

 

The Full Marathon as well as the Half Marathon  will start outside the Newry Sports Centre at 9:00 a.m. on 29th May 2011. The Fun Run will start at 9:45 a.m. in the city centre.

ALL WALKERS for both the Half Marathon & Full Marathon will start at 8:00 a.m. outside the Newry Sports Centre.

 

Participants must start at the allocated time for their event. Time recording will start at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 6:00 p.m. on 29th May 2011. Traffic restrictions will be in place to allow safe passage of participants through the city and on the main Poyntzpass Road. These restrictions will commence at 8:00 a.m. and cease at 2:00 p.m. on the main Poyntzpass Road allowing walkers 6 hours to reach the half way mark. Anyone not reaching this stage within the time permitted will be asked to retire from the event. For the return journey through the city restrictions will remain in place until 3:00 p.m. Anyone not reaching this stage within the time should obey the rules of the highway code and will be regarded as a pedestrian.

 

Participants for the Half & Full Marathon must be age 18 or over on the day of the race. If any participant is unwell prior to the event he/she is advised not to take part. Everyone must arrive at least 45 mins before the start of their event, this will enable them to familiarise themselves with toilets, refreshments and the start and finish areas. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage of your property. Entry fees are not refundable.
