Dublin Half Marathon September 2011
Venue: Dublin, Ireland
Date: 17 September 2011
Distance: 13.1 miles
For anyone thinking of running the Dublin Marathon on Monday 31st of October the Dublin Half Marathon is a must. Those serious about finishing in eight weeks time will be roughly half-way through their training and doing at least one long run a week. Although these long runs are crucial to your physical and psychological conditioning the best learning is from racing itself.
The race series was born in 2002 with a modest field of 200 runners taking part. Over the past seven years entries have increased year on year with the 2010 series showcasing the highest entry to date.
Race organisers are reminding entrants that there will be road closures in place from early morning in the Phoenix Park. Free shuttle buses will be operating on Saturday, departing from Parkgate Street from 8.15am, with the drop off point at the Phoenix Monument.
The Half-Marathon event starts at 10am sharp.
