ORM Medical Work

Our specialist team and their numerous medical colleagues carried out a complete evaluation of  all the children resident in the orphanages in which we work throughout 2001 and also on all children who have arrived in these institutions over the last 10 years. It was shocking that the children had never been examined or their medical needs addressed until the time they would arrive, aged 4+.

Unfortunately for some it would mean that intervention would come too late and for some it would mean that their medical conditions had progressed to such a profound degree that appropriate earlier intervention would have prevented their lifelong disability an indeed institutionalisation. For the majority it would restore health and wellbeing and for others, simple changes in medications, drug monitoring or diet would have a profound effect on their status and indeed their potential.

We addressed medical & drug protocols, emergency protocols, staff training, & patient investigation, evaluation and treatment on a massive scale. These ORM elements are ongoing and now each child has a complete medical file that includes all vaccinations, bloods, genetic tests, consultations, hospitalisations, surgical interventions and ongoing care plan.  To give you a small idea of the level of medical need that our teams have to manage daily, please read more..
